The Ryan Odelle Mance Memorial Scholarship Foundation (ROMMSF), Incorporated has designed a multi-year Leadership Mentoring Program (LMP) to strengthen and support its continuing mission to help increase access to higher education for deserving, talented, and qualified high school African American male students. The program provides ongoing academic and career guidance to African American males at high schools in Prince George’s County; equipping participants with practical knowledge of leadership principles and wise counsel essential to successfully progress through college and to navigate the career journey. The LMP also reaches and serves other neighboring and targeted counties/regions, as well as partnering organizations.
The 3-year LMP Program is open to African American males at the sophomore level, and we invest our time, energy, and resources in the participating class through their senior year of high school.
To participate in the Leadership Mentoring Program (LMP), referred applicants must complete the online LMP application by May 31 each year. In late August, parents and applicants are invited to attend an introductory meeting to learn more about the Program. Parents/students are asked to bring the completed application to the meeting and are advised during the introductory meeting of the date when to expect notification that their child has been selected to participate in the program. Online applications may be completed, printed, and submitted to the John Haynes, LMP Manager, at email@example.com.
In the case of the inclusion of participating students from a particular geographical region, or students participating through a partnering organization, LMP applications would be submitted directly to the John Haynes, LMP Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 31 each year.
We look forward to working with our young African American males and helping to transform them into current and future leaders
